As an engineer passionate about mechanical and electronic engineering, Lauren is currently pursuing a master’s degree in robotics engineering and working as an engineer at a construction and manufacturing company specializing in the creation of fully automated factories.
Since joining community activities in September 2022, Lauren has been actively involved in empowering community members, not only managing a WeChat community in Los Angeles but also organizing various offline events for women. Her study abroad experiences in Japan and South Korea from 2010 to 2012 made her feel the oppression of traditional thoughts, and she faced ridicule and isolation due to her reading disability, even falling into depression at one point. However, with the encouragement of a single mother, Lauren realized that “women are not a vulnerable group; don’t categorize yourself as weak” and “education may not change destiny, but it can change the trajectory of one’s life.” Since then, she often listens to the stories of female friends, exchanging and encouraging each other, believing it to be a meaningful endeavor. Now, Lauren hopes to continuously improve herself, make more friends, and contribute to the community without forgetting her original intentions, while always supporting women’s education.
作为对机械工程和电子工程充满热情的工程师，小粉黄目前正攻读机器人工程研究生并在一家全自动化工厂建设的建筑生产企业担任工程师。
自从2022年9月加入社区活动以来，小粉黄一直积极的投身empower社群成员的工作上，不仅运营洛杉矶微信社群，也为大家组织了丰富的女性线下活动。在2010至2012年间的日本和韩国留学经历让她深感传统思想的压抑，也曾因阅读障碍症而遭受嘲笑和孤立，甚至一度感到抑郁。然而，在一位单亲妈妈的鼓励下，小粉黄意识到，“女性并非弱势群体，不要将自己归入弱者之列”以及“教育或许无法改变命运，但能改变人生轨迹”。自此，她经常倾听女性朋友们的故事，互相交流、鼓励，认为这是一件有意义的事。如今，小粉黄希望不断提高自己，结识更多的朋友，并在成长的过程中不忘初心，为社区贡献自己的力量，并将永远坚持支持女性教育事业。
